The festive season is in full swing now, and this week we have enjoyed our Christmas Dinner, and the Christmas plays were performed on Thursday and Friday of this week. Both the infant and junior plays were of very high quality and very well attended.
The infants performed ‘Fishing for Stars’, which built an enchanting tale around the traditional nativity play. The audience was wowed by the confidence and skill of the children- several children performed solos, and the dancing was amazing! There were some lovely songs which delighted the audience, and the performance concluded with a rousing chorus of ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’. The Hall was full of proud parents!
The Juniors took a very different style of production and put on the hilarious and lively ‘Panto Pandemonium’. This was a significantly more ambitious production than we have staged in the past, and called for very accomplished performances in dancing, singing, acting- and in particular comic timing.
The audience were quickly reduced to howls of laughter, and they joined in the booing and hissing of the pantomime villain. The children performed this hugely ambitious production with great style, and what’s more, the enjoyment that shone through every moment of the performance was a sense of real pride to us here at Swaythling Primary.
